Upload a manual recording

A manual recording tells FormStatus how to interact with a form. Record your workflow with the Chrome extension before starting.

  1. Open + New Form in the app.
  2. Select Upload Manual Recording.
  3. Choose your recording’s .json file or drag it into the upload area.
  4. Review the selected file. Turn on Enable Email Testing if you also want to verify notification delivery.
  5. Choose Run test and open the resulting check details.

Email testing

Email testing requires the FormStatus WordPress plugin on the target website. The upload screen checks for the plugin when you enable the option. If it is not detected, install and activate it, then try again.

With email testing off, the replay does not verify email delivery. Review the individual page, submission, and SSL results to see what the run checked.

Review and maintain the workflow

Watch the available screen recording and inspect any error details. If the website’s fields or navigation change, edit the generated custom steps or make a fresh recording.

Recordings normally remain available for 30 days after successful tests and 90 days after failed tests. Keep your original JSON file if you will need it again.
